Spring fishing was better than the summer. The point on the east sode of the lake usually holds a mumber of fair sized bass. Pike can be caught on the south shore of the west bay. |

My son and I were fishing on East Bearskin lake from 7-25-16 to 7-29-16. We caught 46 in those 5 days. We fished from the canoe and on land. We had best luck from land just past the camp ground site, paddling east, there is a landing point where the cove and the main lake meet. That is a very good spot to caught a lot of perch and smallmouth bass. My son hooked a good size northern pike in the same location where we were fishing for perch but the toothy fish cut his line because he didn't have a steel leader on. We tried drifting in the canoe and jigging for walleye which were down deep because of how warm the water temp was but we didn't have any luck catching them. We used nightcrawlers, leeches, minnows and lures. Leeches worked best then minnows. We had a great time fishing and we will be back next year maybe a month sooner to have better luck catching walleye and northern pike. I forgot to mention the weather. We had light rain on Wednesday morning then the sun came out later in the afternoon. And was partly sunny all the other days. All in all we had great weather. |

Fishing is generally good unless there are two many jetskiers and tubers out. Lots of bottom structures hold fish, regardless of the weather. Good evening lake. |

Crappies and bass moving into the muddy shallows, I was out 4/16 in the small cattail bays and found fish very shallow. Just used a minnow and plain hook on slip bobber, nothing fancy and had enough action to keep busy. Only will get better as the water warms. MNDUCKER |
