Fished Friday October 27 from around 1:30 pm till around 4;30 with a watermelon seed worm and caught one bass about 14 inches. Question? Anyone who fishes Lake Robinson regularly can you tell me the best winter months to catch crappie, live bate or jigs, and how deep? Thank you for any help...

Awesome lake! I really enjoy fishing here. Not really a heavy traffic lake due to mtor restrictions and recreational limits so the ecosystem for bass is perfect. And I can paddle around in my wilderness kayak without fear! Black and blue jigs are producing really nice bass. Work it slow, more finesse than anything. Pitch right next to floating docks and standing docks. When it hits the bottom STOP and entice the bass and it hits it so hard, you don\'t know your on until you start reeling. Wacky rigging a senko will get you a lot of hits in coves or right in front of cover. Awesome lake!

i was crappie fishing, long lining minnows when i ran into a cove that was full of bait. I drug the crappie minnows around and caught maybe 9 or 10 bass. I kept 5 for fillets. One was a little over 6 lbs, 3 were 5 to 5 1/2 lbs and kept a 3 1/2 lber because it was hurt. Great day. Cleaned the fish and the fillets were so clean they were pink. Great table fare.

- Useing a float and a 1/8 jig you can prduce bites like it\'s no one business. All you need to do to rig it up is to keep a 4-5 foot distance form the bobber to the jig. The jig is best gray or white or black colored, matching the hatch is also helpfull. Casting near rock walls and stumps are exciting places to catch the smallie of your life. When you cast near a rock wall just let it sit their and do a gentle twitch to make it look like a young bait fish learning to swim properly. I will admit the population isn\'t gigantic, if worked right you can catch a bucket full in no time.(P.S. they are gross to eat, so don\'t eat them) If you do find a decent spot, then one more tip of advice, cast in the shadows were smallies love to cool down especially in the summer.

Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The crappie should be very aggressive and feeding well. Feeding should be very heavy right now especially in the morning and evenings and Spawn Should be really fueled up with some fish on their beds currently and actively doing their business. Focus fishing in the upper half and ends of the tributary arms. Best thing this time of year is to fish a little faster with throwing cranking jigs and small crappie crank baits utilizing and fishing different depths until you find a good concentration of fish. Start at the mouths of the arms and work your way back to the shallow spawning areas and fish hard and fast until you find them. Try finding some shallow ditches coming off the channels and heading to shallow spawning areas. On Sunny or warmer days hit those shallow areas hard. NOW IS THE TIME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT IS ON!!

The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

- Useing giant spinners are especially good in parts of the lake that stick out. 2 in one day is great considering the fact the population isn\'t at its best. The giant spinner baits are effective only if they are dark. Spring and fall is the best seasons.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be another full moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
