Nice late morning fishing trip with my kayak. Caught 5 real nice Large Mouth Bass and one whopper of a Blue Gill. Started with Mepps #3 and transitioned to a 1/4 oz silver little cleo after the hits stopped on the spinner.

Fishing Rating: 2
Water Temperature: 62
Fished main lake pretty hard and only managed one decent sized Large Mouth Bass on a Mepps #3. Weeds made it tough, but there is a large relatively open area near the middle of the lake, nice access with my kayak. No luck on either Meyers Lake East nor Meyers Lake West this trip.

I nice Northern Pike caught in Myers Lake East on Mepps #4. Transitioned over to main Bond Lake and drifted a few fptimes toawards the road and caught a few nice Pickerel and a dandy Grass Perch.

Bond Lake Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Go right about the middle of the pond when entering and fish as deep as possible. jigs and plastics work great and topwater is great in very early or late times when bugs are active. squids don\'t work except when fish are super hungry which is hardly ever. fish slowly and usually closer to the bottom then top. Also try to fish by weed beds, rocks , or over hangin trees.(great cover) if you have a boat try to fish in the far cove with crank baits/deep plastics. use bright colors when clear water and dark colors when stained or muddy. blue bright green blue/black green and red work great. nightcrawlers work on occasion but good luck getting by sunfish.

tips up and have a blast good luck!!!!!

Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 38 degrees. If you have a chance to get out on the water, you are going to have to fish deep and slow. Jig fishing and Plastic baits may be your best bet this time of year for largemouth bass. You may also try fishing some sinking jerk baits.

Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Smallmouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 38 degrees. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a smallmouth.
Bond Lake Crappie Rating:
Bond Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Crappie fishing is sometimes at its best with the water temperature down this low. Crappie will be in large schools and follow the large shad schools around in extremely deep water. Find the deepest parts of your lake in old river channels and scan your graph for schooling shad. When you find the school, drop your plastics or live bait down to the bottom of the shad and get ready. Many crappie fishermen will be catching awesome numbers and size of fish this time of year. If you are brave enough to get out on the water this time when the water temperature is this cold, it can really pay off. Be careful out there, remember to boat safely. Never take any chances at these temperatures.

Walleye Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Walleye function very well in the colder water temperatures. Try fishing some open flats and definitely use live bait when the water temperature is this low. Plastics with scent added will also produce results, but nothing beats live bait for walleye.
Bond Lake Catfish Rating:

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be another full moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
