This is for 3/15/15. The water temp was 55 on the launch and main body. Up in the coves and shallower water, it was as high as 61. Tried fishing cranks, jerks, spinners, plastic and jigs for largemouth. Got skunked. Lots of fishermen out and lake was a little croweded.

La Cygnes temps ranged from lower 50\'s to low 60\'s at the hot water outlet. A little low than expected. Fishing was slow, caught a few small largemouth and a few whites, but fish seemed to be scattered around quite a bit.

Fishing was really good today. 2 lb wiper by the hot water outlet and several white bass. The seagulls were flocking on the west side of the lake just north of the nation\'s. The northwest wind was pushing the bait fish and whites were biting on shad like crank bait. All together a treat for January.

Some crappie and bass are biting along the banks with underwater structure. They are hard to find with slow action, but should improve as the water temp rises.

Water is still a little warm. La Cygnes still has a couple weeks of cooler weather to get the temps down to the right area for everything to start back up.

Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With La Cygnes Lake at 46 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Largemouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Largemouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.

Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Smallmouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 46 degrees. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a smallmouth.

La Cygnes Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With the Water Temperature at 46 Prime Crappie fishing is in full swing. Crappies should be migrating to their spawning areas now. They?ll either be up in the final spawning area now or at tributary entrances. Concentrate around 15 feet of water. Fish Primary points at the mouth of the creek arms. Fish Targets at this point instead of focusing on bait fish. Fish trees, shrubs, vegetation, etc. Fishing correctly this time of year will get you snagged quite a bit since you need to focus on making and keeping contact with the cover.

on worms with a jig head. I caught a flathead on a 3in. fire tiger swim bait. It

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.
