Great fishing! Area was clean. Bathrooms were stocked and kept up with. The only reason I gave it a 3 was the poor road conditions and the lack of facilities for ice. Make sure you take plenty of ice as the closest place is over an hour away. As for the fishing, we caught 12 the first day and 20 the 2nd day. Average length was 12 inches. They hit on a combination of yellow powerbait and salmon eggs.

Poor fishing few catfish bitting on worms few small bait size bluegill no other species lots of cattails and lake bottom full of weeds every cast you bring in this garbage. City does not care about lake never stocked and grounds not kept up no game warden on duty so rules are not followed there is a two catfish limit and 2 trout limit when they stock but nobody follows rules. Docks in poor shape . Maintenance is a must and lake needs dredged and made a lot deeper this lake has had several green algae out breaks due to boats and jet skies not being cleaned lake should be off limits to all water craft and lake should have paddle boats for rent.

Fished deep and also shallow off the point to the left of the boat ramps in the morning then to the river down from the spillway. Was cold and snowing. No action whatsoever. River was too fast from the runoff release. Oh, well; still a beautiful area to spend time.

The conditions of this body of water do not support any aquatic life forms, plant or animal. The nearest fishing spots are on the Pecos and Black rivers about 30 mi. to the west.

Fished afternoon of April 29. Water clarity was 6\" - 12\". Windy. Caught and released 10-12 10\" - 12\" rainbows and a few fingerling bass on olive wooly buggers on the northeast side of the lake. Lost a couple of fish that may have been bigger bass from the way they hit but were difficult to get a hook set.
