Threw crankbaits and jigs from 5-9 pm on Thursday, 7/17/14. My partner (cousin) likes to fish lighter tackle: small floating raps and beatle spins. One bite, one fish. A 2lb largemouth in 7\' of warer about 6:30p. Very hard to detect jig bite due to bottom debris. Set the hook probably 15 times. No jig fish.

I\'ve been out to this lake 3 times now and managed to hook 1 large mouth that was barely worth mentioning. Bream bite is non existant and you can\'t get a catfish bite either. this was all shore fishing however the bite shouldn\'t be that slow in the early evening especially with Bream in mid spawn. I might try this lake if I had a boat but there are no public boat launches

fished YWATERDAY 5/30/2014. Didn\'t even get a bite. I don\'t know if the bass are ever going to start hitting again. There were carp all over the banks. up and down the cove that I fished and I know that must have some affect on the bass. If anyone is having any luck at Willisburg please post it on this site.

Perfect day for bluegill fishing however the bite was slow and at times non-existant. Hooked a juvenile yellow bass on a redworm slow retrieve. Bluegill should have been highly aggressive while on spawning beds but the bite was very poor. Redear were slow to bite as well.

Last trip to the lake was Martin Luther King Day. Water temp 38 - 40 in the river channel into the mouth of Peters Creek. Several Fisherman were running spider rigs in the main channel with little to no luck. I noticed most of them did not use fish finders at all just continued to troll. My wife and I trolled the channel for a few hours with no luck then moved into the creek channel where I began to notice bait fish on my finders holding at 12 feet. We caught 30 crappie ranging from 9 to 12 inches in 2 hours all on jigs.
