Me and Bill fished Sunday most of the day and only caught two crappie, lost one. Caught the first fish (1lb.) on a large minnow in 31 feet of water and caught the second (3/4lb) on on a jigging spoon. Lost one about on the same size. The fish were not moving with the bait and couldn't tell when we got a bite. The water was very clear and calm, that may have made the fish a little spooky. The lake was down about 2-1/2 or 3 feet. Beautiful day though for late November, warm and sunny.

Fished Friday morning with my brother in law Bill. We trolled crank baits toward the dam, no luck. Tried drift fishing live bait in 35 feet of water, one small(what looked like a white bass). Found some wood in 27 feet of water and jigged up 2 nice crappie on the bottom. Finished out the day by fishing for crappie over cover in 17 feet of water. Had a nice stringer of fish by 2:30pm, Sun finally came out, got hot, and went home.

Fished Bluestone on 9-4-2009 from 0900am until 0700pm. My fishing buddy and I fished up the Bluestone River side for approx. an hour or so without a bite and then took off up the New River side and spent the rest of the day. We caught somewhere around 22 to 23 bass. All smallmouth except for one spot and a couple of largemouth. Most of our fish came on a greenpumpkin hula grub. We had to skip the jigs under low hanging brush and trees almost to the bank before we could get any bites. Caught a few bass on tube jigs (candy corn) color at the head end of the shoals. The rest of the fish came on greenpumpkin worms with a bright green tip on the tail. Mine was a straight tail and my buddy (Jeff D) was throwing a curly tail worm. Hope that this info is helpful on your next trip to Bluestone Lake. Our biggest fish was around 2#. We had a total of 12 or 13 keepers. Good luck and GOD Bless!
