Went out past the last bridge on 216 yesterday and caught a bushel of large males. Used 30 traps with chicken necks, left the trot line home. Things seem to be picking up.

stripers are off the big hit now... you can still get catch them but bite isnt like it was 3 weeks ago. been hooking them through the tail (behind the dorsal fin and in front of the tail fin in the middle) above the lateral line so they dont bleed to death. just got to keep and eye on them. the good thing is that they are lively and kicking for a long time but the bad is that they go everywhere....so just keep and eye on your lines. best of luck

Went out yesterday July 15th. Fished from shore line at chapel cover. Fish turned on at around 6:30. Hooked into 3 largemouth 10-14". Had something big snap my line. Felt like a lunker. Saw some big ones jumping at dragon flies. Caught all fish on carlonia rigged 6" Senkos (Pumpkin with black and green flecks and black with gold flecks). All fish hit in or right on the edge of weedbeds. They are in there. I think a shiner pattern would be deadly.

Took my nephews out today (July 16) for some white perch fishing. We fished from 6:30 am - 1:00
pm. Didn't find any large schools of fish, but covered a lot of water. Ended the day with the three
of us boating 121 white perch with a lot of those in the 10"+ size range. Seems they aren't
schooled up big like they were a couple of weeks ago, but the bite is still good.
