Just returned from the lake after camping on the 18th and 19th weekend. Fishing from the
shore in super shallow water using green powerbait i caught three of the biggest fattest
rainbows I have ever caught. At around 2 pounds each they were as fat as can be and
around 16 to 18 inch average. It was strange since the water is already pretty warm, but
the stormy weather may have brought the into the shallows. It was very fun.

I went there on Sat. the 27th. The water had gotten warmer from the weekend prior. This Saturday water was in the mid 50\'s on most of the lake. I did find it in the low 60\'s in a few coves, at the very back. The lake had dropped about 8 to 10 inches. Probably for flood control. It is still full, and a lot of cover around the shoreline. Should make for a great spawn this year if the water level can hold till June 1st. I caught 5 smallmouth using a crank bait that dives 8 to 10 ft. There getting active pretty quick. By next weekend (5/4/13) fishing should be much improved. Keep in mind to practice catch and release, If you want to keep
a couple for the dinner table, keep a couple in the 2 lb. range, and let
the bigger ones go. The big one\'s have better genes for reproduction.
See you on the water, smallmouth55

I was all over the lake on 4/20/13. The warmest water was around the marina, at 51 degrees. the coldest was at 47 degrees on the dam end. Smallmouth fishing was tough because the barometer was holding steady, but a cold front had just passed through the day prior. Smallies were staging just off the main points in about 12 to 16 ft. But because of the c. Front they moved back down a bit. By next weekend, with the warm weather this week, cranking the main lake points in about 10 to 12 foot,
should be easy to limit out. Try a brown, or red crankbait. The full moon is on Thursday. And remember to practice catch and release. If you want to eat some, take a couple in the 2 lb. range. Let the big ones go. Smallmouth 55

Saw a lot of people out there today. Fishing was slower in some areas of the day but still
had a lot of fish. Caught my limit and then some and started helping others catch fish.
Best fishing is deeper in the water near structure of some sort. Salmon peach and
chartruse power bait works great..... today is sept 30.

Trout are very good to fish for because they are pretty big sizes. When I
caught those trophy size trout, they are like, 1foot + 5 inches long! The
thing is that you need to either fish late in the afternoon or very early in
the morning.
