With steady afternoon temps in the 60\'s the water has warmed up a bit. Caught 3 fish all shallow in the thickest cover you can find. Cold front this weekend will slow things down, but they should be moving up to pre spawn areas soon. Favorite time of year to be on the water.

I have been having just a little bit of luck using good ol' power bait. Two Taggers so far this year. I am going this morning to try again. You can't give up on Topaz. Plus, even a bad day fishing beats work any day!!!!!

This lake is currently over fed and only a few are being caught. Many out-of-town trollers enter the space of shore fisherman. Not advisable. If you want 12 to 14 inch trout...they are there...just like any other place. Once in a while a few 2+ pounders are caught and recently a lone 9 pounder was caught and claimed to have been caught here. If you use only worms one might catch a 20+ pond carp. Great to chop up and put in your garden for next years corn. Keep an eye out for Bald Eagles if you have a small dog on the beach this time of year. Power type baits work but the favorite color(s) change every couple of weeks. Buzz
