I fished Stockton April 10th. It was chilly in the morning water 53 as the sun came up and wind started blowing the water eventually warmed up to 58. We caught 12 lm bass with our largest 2.5. Caught them on spinner bait and a crankbait on secondary points.

More stable weather is getting the bite much more consistent. Crappie fishing is excellent. Some really nice Crappie can be found shallow and deeper using jigs and minnows. White bass are hitting well also on Crankbaits and all the standard lures you are used to catching them on and they are of a nice size. Walleye fishing has been good if you know where to look. Catfish has been hit or miss for many so far this year, but nice ones can be found. Largemouth are plentiful if you know the spots well that they inhabit. Dark colored spinner baits and also worm rigs seem to be producing well.

The bass are now in the coves. they are beginning to mate, but are not willing to eat during the day. any day from now on try to fish the inner coves, toss in a imitation of a crawdad for best results. toss it right into the nest and give it little action and they should hit right away to get it out of their nest. fish and fish now.

was out yesterday and caught a 18" female large mouth bass(Kentucky). The mating time is up. The males are left guarding the nest while the male goes and enjoys a meal. still fish the coves. fish in the inner cove for males and any where for the females. use a chartreuse diver that goes that goes four to five feet down, bounce it off the rocks. when you hit a rock let it stop pulling and let it stay for a second before retrieving again. do this with every rock.
