There are INDEED, walleye in this lake. Locals have put about a dozen in this lake, local charter caught about 4 in live well. My good friend also caught one in about 5 feet off a mepps spinner. This fish was VERY messed up and deformed, 0 idea why but walleyes and bluegills are in this lake. Locals stock it but it is very slim and almost impossible to catch. Smallmouth fishing is very tough here, but i pulled out an 8 and have pulled out several 3s-6s. MONSTER smallmouths in this lake, just very hard to get them to commit since the clarity of the lake. I fish here year round and know it like back of my hand, legit small mouth in this lake just very, very tough..

I fished there on Mothers day wkend in 1992, and had on the largest Largemouth Bass I have ever seen. Two others in the boat. saw the whole disaster unfold. Buddy grabbed the line as the fish surfaced, and the second snelled hook buried into his hand. The fish made a hard run and broke off. I wont guess as to weight, but it was 24-25 inches, and thick .

8-10 mph winds out of the ENE. Choppy waters. Caught 3 small mouth in 30 ft with Goby (live bait) and a drop shot near DeVos place. Deep water docks proved to be decent. Seawall at mouth provided nothing.

CABLE LAKE Bluegill, crappie, sunfish, smallmouth bass all 6"-9". Only caught a few small bass. all caught on red worms in 10' to 15' of water, perimeter on south side of lake by Lilly's. Had one pole setup with a bobber and no slip shot, 12" lead from bobber to hook. Other pole, had slip shot and I bottom bounced. Every species was biting every where until the cats came out. CATFISH Bull head (yellow) Cut some of the smaller pan fish and Used 1/2 dollar sized chunks for the cats. Never stopped biting. Anywhere from 10" to 17" and up to 2 lbs.

All though the dam has been closed more or less the walleye fishing has been slow or next to none. Hope the water cools down soon
