Measured water temperature on 5/25/2010 at 6:00PM at 81 degrees, two feet below the surface. This was up 4 degrees from the previous day. On 5/23 it was 72 degrees. Given the shallowness of the lake, hot weather and intense sunshine raises the temperature rapidly.

Three bass caught on 4/22/10 between 16:45 and 19:45. They were feeding at the top and hit a Silver Fox gold vibrex minnow spinner (1) and a shad colored medium jerkbait (2). Wouldn't touch powerbait, jigs, or conventional spinners. They were about a pound, half a pound, and half a pound respectively. Caught near the Sunken Church.

Been out 1/2 a dozen times on shore since mid-March with good results. I started the season by throwing a Phoebe Spoon with a red stripe and caught a few rainbows and a brown. When that slowed a bit, I switched to a red/white Red Devil spoon. The big spoon attracts big fish. I have caught trout off the beach on the State Park side and caught Bass and a nice sized Northern Pike off the boat ramp.

Fishing from shore & canoe. Canoe- 20-35 yrds from shore in shallows- 1 sm perch, 1 very large lrg mouth bass (slow hit & located about 20 yrds from shore) 2 pickrel sm size (all fish on a soft bait worm texas rig.) from shore- small sm mouth bit on a soft bait worm while practice casting.
