I dont think i would ever go back. You lieterally pay to get in to waste your time. Its congested where you park, boats are everywhere! Pressure so high the bass will not bite! I understand its called fishing, not catching. However this lake should be limited to boaters in water. Cant get a bass to bite when 3-5 boat are all around you.

I always look at this fishing report to see if anyone has added any info to it. I always find it funny how they say there are no fish in this lake or that it is poor for fishing. I have been fishing this lake since the late 80's and have always had pretty good luck. not every time but most times it has proven to provide nice sized redear and blue gills. may 9th-may 12th of 2017 me and a few family members (8 all together) caught 842 fish (bluegills and redears) in 4 days. while heading to the fish cleaning station in the campground one day, there was a guy just coming off of the water. we pulled up next to him to fasten down our boat and asked him how his day on the water went. I could tell he was "giddy" as he says pretty good. then asked me if I would take a picture of his catch. I said absolutely, to which he reached in his livewell and pulled out 2 of the biggest bass I have seen caught in Indiana waters. one had to of been 7 pounds and the other close to 9.

It's an amazing lake to fish on as well as backwater. There are striped bass I have been watching the spawning and I must say a large jump in the population. Of striped bass this year from last and if you are a pan Fisher I recommend trolling the down ed trees in back water I eat off the lake regularly and a large abundance of bluegill mass population. Crappie seems low for this time of year but the winter months are prime for crappie.in the fall and spring take on Webster but I recommend back water in the summer months
June 8th, 2017 - Winona Lake

Fished Winona on Saturday, June 3, from 12:30 PM to 4:15 PM. Sunny skies and many pleasure boaters but we managed 5 walleye from 14.5 to 18.5 inches with 3 exceeding the 16 inch limit. We also caught a handful of nice perch. All of the fish were very healthy. My experience on Winona is that all species are well fed with a lot of girth for their length. For the short duration and unfavorable conditions of our outing we did very well. This lake has a very healthy population of fish.
