Trout fishing is poor to fair. some bigs being pulled out but they are far and few between. This report covers the week of May 5th, 2013. Fishing has generally been good to excellent at this time of year in the past 4-5 years, usually catching on avg 15-18\" trout, not the case this year. Unkown what is causing these declining fishing conditions this year at the lake.

My sons and i were a Roosevelt the 23rd, 24th, and the 25th. We caught seven large mouth on the first day, eleven on the second day with one of my boys hooking up with a beautiful five pound ten ounce lunker. The third day we caught seventeen large mouth. We tried for crappie each day with no luck. Over all the weather was perfect and the fishing was great. looking forward to going back in a couple of weeks. John Lafferty, Lakeside AZ.

Fished this lake back in July \'12 and slayed the bass of a white topwater frog. Which water stayed in there and they could get the merc levels fixed. Would be an awesome topwater lake!

From the Boat Shop go straight across the lake till you hit a rock wall, to the left of the Dam.
The water is about 30-60 feet deep depending where you anchor. Drop either any kind of
trout power bait or even a good old fashioned crawler down. Trout sit about 6 ft off the
bottom. Also..... Heavy under currents make it a challenge so good luck!

Remember the game and fish don\'t want catch and release on strippers. Take all of them with
you. They are great eating, very mild not fishy at all if prepared right. In my family we like them
breaded with zanatrans fish fry found in any store and fried in a little peanut oil. We like to fillet
thems.

Bluegill fishing is at its best at granite. I pulled out about 22 fish within 1 and a half hours on just nightcrawlers and plastic bait catch and releasing.I just ripped a peice of plastic senko and threw it on a hook with a slow retrieve. I also saw a few bass right off shore. I caught a 2 lber bass off a bed about 2 weeks ago on a berkly alive minnow.
