Lake Cunningham Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 52 degrees. If you have a chance to get out on the water, you are going to have to fish deep and slow. Jig fishing and Plastic baits may be your best bet this time of year for largemouth bass. You may also try fishing some sinking jerk baits.

Lake Cunningham Smallmouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Lake Cunningham at 52 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Smallmouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Smallmouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.

Lake Cunningham Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The crappie fishing should be getting good to great now. Crappie function excellent in 52 degree water. Crappie will be nicely bunched up still and moving more aggresively than when the water temperature is in the 35 to 50 degree range. With baitfish getting more active, the crappie fishing will be good. Good luck today!

- use sliding bobber to fish on bottom about 20 ft. out from island towards boat launch using big hunks of mackeral. Wait for bobber to diaappear then count to five, then set hook. Have caught between four of us up to 30 nice cats. Ranging from 5-17lbs. One of my brothers caught one that was 23.5 lbs from the bank. But this was back in the mid ninetys, so I really do not know if this has changed.

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Lake Cunningham Trout Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Trout fishing in Lake Cunningham can be a little difficult. Mainly you can catch
them in early spring near the island by the boat docks.I would suggest either
Powerbait or nightcrawlers.Usually they will be around 2-8 pounds.

Lake Cunningham Solar and Lunar Conditions
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
New Moon fishing can be at its best. The gravitational pull on the earth is at its peak when the moon and sun are rising and setting at the same time of day. This combination can generate extraordinary fishing opportunities especially if combined with perfect weather variances. The new moon may have the fish extremely aggressive and actively hunting for food. Try fishing a little faster today and with several different baits and techniques. When fish are more aggressive, its always fun to fish a little more aggressive. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today?s solar/lunar peaks. Have a great day!
