Crappie Tips for Current Conditions:
Crappie fishing is sometimes at its best with the water temperature down this low. Crappie will be in large schools and follow the large shad schools around in extremely deep water. Find the deepest parts of your lake in old river channels and scan your graph for schooling shad. When you find the school, drop your plastics or live bait down to the bottom of the shad and get ready. Many crappie fishermen will be catching awesome numbers and size of fish this time of year. If you are brave enough to get out on the water this time when the water temperature is this cold, it can really pay off. Be careful out there, remember to boat safely. Never take any chances at these temperatures.

"Crappie kill-er,I have fished this lake for over 25 years and have never seen it this bad.I have been catching large mouth bass in the creeks but not a single crappie yet this year.I have about half a dozen places on the lake where I usually catch crappie one after another, but not this year. The water temp is where it should be, but the water level is way to low.I don't know what to tell you because I can't seem to figure it out myself. In my opinion, and I know everybody has one, ever since they put those ""freshwater sharks"" in the lake, fishing has gone down hill.OK musky guys, tell me why muskies were good for this lake other than not having to drive to Cowan or Rocky Fork.I have been catching 11 to 13 inch bass with teeth marks on their sides.Crappie kill-er if I figure it out I'll post what, why, when, and how.Sorry I was of no help."

- there is no walleye in this lake.
Walleye Tips for Current Conditions:
The walleye spawn is in full swing now. With Walleye spawning grounds generally on gravel and rocky bottoms and preferring clean water. Try throwing reaction type baits up in the shallows. Rip-Rap, damns, rocky bottom points are perfect to hit. Try fishing some faster crank baits and spinners this time of year. As always fall back to the standard walleye fishing tactics, but it won?t hurt bringing out the bass gear in search for spawning walleyes. In this water temperature, always be safe on the water.

Caesar Creek Lake Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions:
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they aren’t going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

"Waded up Anderson's Fork with a buddy. Caught 4 Channel Cats, all in about the 1-3 lbs, 2 Drums, on one about 13"" and one 18"", 2 White Bass one 10"" and one 13"", and one small shad and sucker. I have found that during the Spring White Bass spawning, fish up in the rivers with, and I repeat, any basic Rapala lure. Catfish are now at this point on nest and therefore hard to catch. Muskie are the key and future of this lake, and once you catch one, it seems like you automatically figure it out. It's just making that first catch. Ceaser Creek Lake is a lake of knowledge and patience, with a good future of good fishing"

Caesar Creek Lake Solar and Lunar Conditions
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be another full moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
