Mark Twain Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Often, the fish aren't aggressive, but you'll catch more fish if YOU are aggressive. If you don't get a bite in one spot for ten minutes or so, pack up and move. You won't find 'em if you stay in an unsuccessful spot. Minnows are easily the bait of choice although jigs tend to yield larger fish. We generally tie up to trees/limbs/stumps on the edges of treelines - the closer to the points you can get - the better. Early in the year, fish five feet down. During the summer months, start at ten-ish feet deep and work your way up.

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Mark Twain Lake Solar and Lunar Conditions
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
New Moon fishing can be at its best. The gravitational pull on the earth is at its peak when the moon and sun are rising and setting at the same time of day. This combination can generate extraordinary fishing opportunities especially if combined with perfect weather variances. The new moon may have the fish extremely aggressive and actively hunting for food. Try fishing a little faster today and with several different baits and techniques. When fish are more aggressive, its always fun to fish a little more aggressive. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today?s solar/lunar peaks. Have a great day!
