Lake Lanier Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions:
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be pretty slow at 78 degree water temperature. Bass will start moving much slower and feeding less aggressively until the water temperature starts to get back down to comfortable levels. When the water temperature is up this high, it's time to get out fishing early and late in the day when the sun is not on the water. When you can get out for the entire day, it's a great time to fish some deeper water. Many large bass are taken this time of year since bass fishermen typically gets out deeper and fish slower with larger baits. Like any other time of year, the slower you fish with bigger baits on the deep drops and river channels, the better chance you have at a lunker. This is a great time to catch a trophy. Good luck out there today!

Crappie Tips for Current Conditions:
Your lake crappie will be much more lethargic in the water temperature. They will be in deeper and cooler water. Crappie will be feeding; however they will not be feeding aggressively unless the other fishing factors are at prime levels. Find some moving water that is clear and you should find some more aggressive fishing.

Lake Sidney Lanier Striper Fishing Report 08/01/2012 Striper fishing is very good. The fish have moved into the creek and river channels from Browns Bridge to the Dam. The key is finding them as they are moving and using the river and creek channels as highways. Tolling lead core line back 8 to 9 colors continues to be the most productive. It is also a great way to search for the large schools and pick up a single fish at the same time. Tip your lead core with 40 feet of 20 pound fluorocarbon line and a 1 oz. Captain Mack’s buck tail jig with a 4 inch shad body in white or chartreuse. Vary your speed from 2.7 mph to 3.8mph. Downriggers will also work and will allow you to pull below 30 feet and reach those deep fish in the river channel. When you find a school fish you can continue to troll or you can stop and fish Blueback Herring on down rods. Vary your down rod depth from 35 to 80 feet. Stripers love to chase their bait and lively bait is critical. Consider changing your bait every 15 minutes. Keep a 2 ounce Captain Mack’s buck tail jig handy for power reeling for those stubborn fish that will not eat. Tip the jig with a herring and drop it below the fish and “burn it” back up through the school. You can often trigger a bite that will “fire up” the entire school. Report Given by Capt. Mike Maddalena of Big Fish On Guide Service. http://www.bigfishonguide.com/ Capt. Ken West – 404-561-2564 – kenwest@bigfishonguide.com 3010 Hitt Rd, Cumming, GA 30041 Capt. Lake Lanier Solar and Lunar Conditions
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be another full moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
