Stripers are fair, and scattered throughout the lake. War Eagle river is starting to clear up some, so if the weather stays fair, you might want to try up there in the river. White river is still muddy, and the middle part of the lake is holding lots of thredfin shad and the Stripers are near it. There is a mud line at the mouth of the war eagle where it meets the white river. The edge of the mud line provides cover to actively feeding striper, they will use it to ambush shad. The white bass run has started and will peak near the 10th of April. Try using Spoons, Spinners, or Grubs/Jigs in White or chartreuse. The morning bite has been the best, most of our fish have been caught by 8a.m. However if it is over cast the bite could last all day. Most striper are keyed on the flats where they can hunt shad. Balloons with bait fished 5-6ft deep without any weight, ""Free linning"" or ""flat linning"" are the live bait technique's to use. Troll slowly! And expect to cover water, you will have to make a ""milk run"" of several spots to get your fish. An umbrella rig will also produce, remember to use chartreuse in the stained water. Try trolling redfins, rapala's and other shallow plugs about 150ft back. Try using planer boards with your plugs or live bait in order to spread your efforts in an attempt to locate the most active stripers. Live bait as always on Beaver Lake when fishing for Trophy Stripers is the go to approach. There is a 20 inch minimum and a daily possession limit of 3 striper or hybrid or combination of. There is no limitation on white bass. White bass and hybrids are really stackin' up in this area. Free-line and balloons 8-10ft deep for striper and cast spoons or roster tails for whites and hybrids. Some nice fish are being caught up at the side walk and the 50cent hole's. Spoons, Spinners, grubs in White or chartreuse for white's and 'brids. The lake level needs to be at about 1127 for access past the last shoal on the War Eagle in order to get a boat up to the two dollar/cemetery hole where white bass are stackin' up. No fish at the ""Mill"" yet. You will need to pay The land owner $2 for access through the gate to the deeper hole's where the whites are stackin' up. Remember you are a guest on their property, treat it with respect! DO NOT LITTER! White river-White bass run is heating up. Fish are piled up near Neils bluff and white bass are being caught all the way up to slick rock. Spoons, Spinners, grubs/jigs in White or chartreuse. Water temp's in the mid to high 50's. Blue springs area-412 bridge is holding some fish, during bright sun they are suspending in the shade of the bridge. Good late morning spot. Cedar Bluff area-Flat is holding fish. Water temps in the mid to high 50's. Hickory Creek- Fish activity is fair. Look in Hickory creek cove. Fish are shallow, use a ""free-line"" approach with a decent sized bait about 4-6 inches long. Water temp's in the mid to high 50's. Horseshoe Bend-Fish are up river/creek arms but will return in a few day's. On the mid and lower sections check out these area's. Water temp is in the mid to high 50's. Prairie Creek -Some fish still in the area but most are moving up river. Look for fish from the bridge up river on the flats"" including Beaver shores. Copper mine-Fish are up river but will return in a few day's. Rocky Branch-Fish are up river but will return in a few day's. On the lower section try Indian creek-Holding some Striper Lost Bridge-Holding striper in the area known as ""Fish Trap Hollow"""

The bait is staying near the surface looking for the warmest water. The white bass run has started and will peak near the 1st of April. Spoons, Spinners, grubs in White or chartreuse. The striper have started their push up river. The activity level will increase as the ambient temperature continues to rise. Find the warmest water. The morning bite has been the best, most of our fish have been caught by 8a.m. However if it is over cast the bite could last all day. Most fish are 8-20 deep. ""Free linning"" or ""flat linning"" are the technique's to use. An umbrella rig will also produce. Try trolling redfins, rapala's and other shallow plugs about 150ft back. Here's on old guides trick, if you are fishing up river where the water is dirty try dipping your shad/minnows tail in a chartreuse dye it doesn't matter if it is scented it just makes the bait more visible to the fish.
