Montlake Cut Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Crappies will be deep and much more sluggish now than in warmer temperature water. They are definitely catchable if you know a few tips. Check the main river channels in deep water. Catching crappie from 25 all they down below 60 feet deep is not uncommon for this time of year. Vertical presentations work best in winter. Fish straight down below the boat using minnows, and other live bait, or really good scented bait. Kentucky Rigged baits and spoons jigged vertically and nice and slow work great also. Good luck!

Montlake Cut Solar and Lunar Conditions
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be a new moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
