Lake Woodlands Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- The past week the fish have been lockjaw. I fished a tourney sunday and placed 3rd fishing a strike king
kvd square bill to trigger a reaction strike. The lake is pretty pressured right now so your best bet is fish a
reaction bait like a spinner bait or crank bait. the shallow diver worked cause most of the fish were
suspended in 4 feet of water in 12 ft depth areas. caught a 5 lber while practicing flippin boat docks.
Catfishing has been good dropping live worms on spinning rods just off the bottom has been really hot.
Caught a 10 lb channel cat and 10 more keeper sizes.
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions:
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 51 degrees. If you have a chance to get out on the water, you are going to have to fish deep and slow. Jig fishing and Plastic baits may be your best bet this time of year for largemouth bass. You may also try fishing some sinking jerk baits.

Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions:
With the water temperature at 51 degrees smallmouth bass fishing is ready to heat up for spring. The bass will be starting to move into their spawning area. Smallmouth bass will generally spawn on rock and gravel bottoms that are protected from the elements. It's time to get fishing and look for staging bass in deeper water.

Lake Woodlands Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions:
Crappie should be getting ready to spawn. Stay out in deeper water and look for schools. Schooling shad will be harder to find with this water temperature so when you find it, stay on it. Crappie schools will be breaking up quite a bit getting ready for the spawn. Also try fishing shallower with small crank baits and spinners on the warm banks with direct sunlight. This is a great time to be on the water.

- I went fishing at Lake Woodlands this morning I caught 5 catfish about 3 yards off the shore by the sea dragon. I used Canadian Night Crawlers often found in Walmart dunked in Dipbait.

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions:
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they aren’t going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

With the water temperature from 88 to 90 degrees during the day it makes the bit really slow. In result you need to be fishing shallow in shade for bass and catfish right as the sun is coming up until 8 AM then you need to switch to deeper water patterns until the sun is going down so the water can cool off.

Spotted Bass Tips for Current Conditions:
Spotted bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature down this low. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a Spotted.

Lake Woodlands Solar and Lunar Conditions
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
The full moon is right around the corner. The gravitational pull is starting to increase with the moon and sun being on opposite sides of the planet. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today's solar/lunar peaks. It's always fun trying something new at the peak times to change things up a bit and test out the Lunar Theory each time you hit the water in close to full and full moon situations. Good luck you there.
