Lake Ray Hubbard Water Temperature
Estimated Current Lake Ray Hubbard Water Temperature:
49°
What's This
Largemouth Bass
Try fishing some pre spawn locations for largemouth bass. With water temperature at 49 find some flats with soft bottom at locations on Lake Ray Hubbard that typically have vegetation during summer months. Try fishing spinner baits and work them slow up to the edge of the drop and bounce them down the face looking for staging largemouth bass. Look for flats in the arms of the lake that have direct access to deep water and river channels.

Smallmouth Bass
Smallmouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 49 degrees. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a smallmouth.

Spotted Bass
Spotted bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature down this low. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a Spotted.

Crappie
Crappie fishing is sometimes at its best with the water temperature down this low. Crappie will be in large schools and follow the large shad schools around in extremely deep water. Find the deepest parts of your lake in old river channels and scan your graph for schooling shad. When you find the school, drop your plastics or live bait down to the bottom of the shad and get ready. Many crappie fishermen will be catching awesome numbers and size of fish this time of year. If you are brave enough to get out on the water this time when the water temperature is this cold, it can really pay off. Be careful out there, remember to boat safely. Never take any chances at these temperatures.

Sauger
The sauger spawn is in full swing now with 49 water. With sauger spawning grounds generally on gravel and rocky bottoms and preferring clean water. Try throwing reaction type baits up in the shallows. Rip-Rap, damns, rocky bottom points are perfect to hit. Try fishing some faster crank baits and spinners this time of year. As always fall back to the standard sauger fishing tactics, but it won?t hurt bringing out the bass gear in search for spawning saugers. In this water temperature, always be safe on the water.

Walleye
The walleye spawn is in full swing now. With Walleye spawning grounds generally on gravel and rocky bottoms and preferring clean water. Try throwing reaction type baits up in the shallows. Rip-Rap, damns, rocky bottom points are perfect to hit. Try fishing some faster crank baits and spinners this time of year. As always fall back to the standard walleye fishing tactics, but it won?t hurt bringing out the bass gear in search for spawning walleyes. In this water temperature, always be safe on the water.

Catfish
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they aren’t going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Lake Ray Hubbard Current Weather
Temperature: 39

Barometric Pressure: 29.88 (Rising)
Fish will tend to become a little more active while the barometric pressure is actively climbing. They will start feeding more aggressively with rising pressure. Fish will be a little more difficult to locate a solid pattern if a storm system has been around for some time. It’s time to experiment to see if you can lock in a location or pattern the fish are in. Once you locate a solid pattern the fish are on, fish that pattern aggressively moving from spot to spot to locate that exact scenario around the lake.

Wind Speed: North at Knots (0 MPH)
