The crescent moon will have better gravitational pull than a gibbous or half moon. However the affects of the moons gravitational will be decreased since the sun and moon aren't pulling in conjunction with one another. Fishing Rating: 5      Water Temperature: 88
Black Bass and Small mouths are good on baby bass, white soft jerk baits off creek points near deep water early and are schooling on shad later in the morning through the evening close to th same areas. My largest five fish today easily toped 25 pounds in the heat of the day. The schooling fish also are taking the same jerk baits fished drop shot and on top and clear Zara Puppy’s. White bass are schooling on the main lake throughout the day with hybrids doing the same off river channels. 08-11-09
Belton Lake Water Temperature
Estimated Current Belton Lake Water Temperature:
66°
What's This
Largemouth Bass
66 degrees in in the largemouth bass prime water temperature range and fishing should be good right now. Baitfish are much more active in this water temperature and the largemouth bass will be feeding aggressively throughout the day. This is a great time of year to be on the water.

Smallmouth Bass
Smallmouth bass are generally their most active at 66. Baitfish are much more active in this water temperature and the smallmouth bass will be feeding aggressively throughout the day.

Spotted Bass
In the 66 degrees range, spotted bass are generally their most active at this water temperature. Baitfish are much more active in this water temperature and the spotted bass will be feeding aggressively throughout the day.

Sauger
This is the water temperature of choice for sauger. They are feeding well and moving in patterns that should be fairly easy to pick up and capitalize on today. Baitfish are not at the peak of activity but they will be in good supply in the deeper water. The lake is really turning on this time of year and the fish should be biting well.

Walleye
This is the water temperature of choice for walleye. They are feeding well and moving in patterns that should be fairly easy to pick up and capitalize on today. Baitfish are not at the peak of activity but they will be in good supply in the deeper water. The lake is really turning on this time of year and the fish should be biting well.

Belton Lake Current Weather
Temperature: 55

Barometric Pressure: 30.04 (High)
A high barometric pressure system is sitting over the lake. Fish will be heading to deeper water, or they will tuck away in cover. With the pressure high, it will be little more challenging to coax them to bite. Your best bet is to take the opportunity to go for a little larger fish. Don’t fish for quantity; it’s time to go for the trophy. Slow down your lures and presentation and get out in deeper water using your favorite plastics, worms, jigs, and finesse baits. With high barometric pressure on your lake, slow down that deep diving crank bait or grab your jerk bait and pause it a little longer.

Wind Speed: North at 08 Knots (9 MPH)
