Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions:
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 51 degrees. If you have a chance to get out on the water, you are going to have to fish deep and slow. Jig fishing and Plastic baits may be your best bet this time of year for largemouth bass. You may also try fishing some sinking jerk baits.

I was on normandy first thing saturday morning april 21st windy and no sunshine raining off and on all day. Every large mouth i caught i pulled them off with a Carolina Rig. Seems like there still on bed cause i was pulling in the big ones and they all still had bloody tails. 6\" watermelon seed lizard was doing the trick along with watermelon speed craws. Gravel Banks was great in about 4 to 6 feet of water. Good Luck Riley Creek and Devil\'s Backbone is were ya need to be.

Wednesday Jan25 Of course I called some friends after the day I had yesterday on Normandy and sure enough a trip came out of it. I went to Normandy today with Brandon and Matt from Lebanon TN. We started out cranking a shad rap and managed to catch a few fish. The TVA had pulled the water and it was down about 10" from the previous day making the fish want to suspend. We left Riley Creek where we had started and I had caught the fish yesterday and headed to Carroll creek. In Carroll we managed to catch a nice mess of fish including a yellow perch, didn't know that they were even in Normandy more on that later. All in all we caught our fish on small white tube jigs and shad raps. We managed to catch 15 kentuckies, 1 smallmouth, 7 largemouth and 4 big crappie and the yellow perch. Come to find out the perch weighed in at 1.8lbs and was just over 14" and qualified for the TARP, Tennessee Anglers Recognition Program. We are taking the steps with Bass Pro to try and get the fish into their tank here at the Nashville Bass Pro. Overall a great day and pretty unique experience. Thanks for the fun day guys. Contact Mark at www.adamsguidesvc.com or call at 615-829-3902. There is a great bite going on right now at Normandy come and enjoy it.

Friday Dec 30 I have another report today for Normandy Lake. The bite here today was slow to start the main lake here was also extremely rough, however the secondary points in the creeks were on fire. The fish were eating Lucky Craft 78SP pointers fished on 10lb Vicious Fluorocarbon line, jerked slowly off the tips of the points. The bites came in flurries as the fish seemed to be bunched up. Most of the strikes came on the windblown sides of the points. Water temps here ranged from 48-49 on the main lake to 50-52 in the creeks. Contact Mark at www.adamsguidesvc.com to book your trip for 2012!!! Let's go fishing soon.

Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions:
With the water temperature at 51 degrees smallmouth bass fishing is ready to heat up for spring. The bass will be starting to move into their spawning area. Smallmouth bass will generally spawn on rock and gravel bottoms that are protected from the elements. It's time to get fishing and look for staging bass in deeper water.

Normandy Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions:
Crappie should be getting ready to spawn. Stay out in deeper water and look for schools. Schooling shad will be harder to find with this water temperature so when you find it, stay on it. Crappie schools will be breaking up quite a bit getting ready for the spawn. Also try fishing shallower with small crank baits and spinners on the warm banks with direct sunlight. This is a great time to be on the water.

Normandy Lake Walleye Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Walleye Tips for Current Conditions:
The walleye spawn is in full swing now. With Walleye spawning grounds generally on gravel and rocky bottoms and preferring clean water. Try throwing reaction type baits up in the shallows. Rip-Rap, damns, rocky bottom points are perfect to hit. Try fishing some faster crank baits and spinners this time of year. As always fall back to the standard walleye fishing tactics, but it won?t hurt bringing out the bass gear in search for spawning walleyes. In this water temperature, always be safe on the water.

Normandy Lake Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- -Catfish Usually like live bait like Bluegill etc.
-If you dont have live bait go to a local fishing store. If you cant find one go to walmart or kmart.
-Dont forget Catfish are nocturnal fish so they come out more often a night.
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions:
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they aren’t going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Normandy Lake Spotted Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Spotted bass have been very active this winter. I have been catching large numbers of fish and several nice size fish between 2-3 pounds. Try using a natural colored crank bait 8-12 feet deep with a slow retrieve for good results.
Spotted Bass Tips for Current Conditions:
Spotted bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature down this low. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a Spotted.

I would like to know who is responsible for updating the fishing reports. It would be a great service for people living close to Normandy Lake to have updated reports. Most of the reports are very old and some not even dated. Can the TWRA or fishing conservationist update this for us?

Normandy Lake Solar and Lunar Conditions
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
The full moon has just past. The gravitational pull is starting to decrease with the moon and sun being on opposite sides of the planet. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today's solar/lunar peaks. It's always fun trying something new at the peak times to change things up a bit and test out the Lunar Theory each time you hit the water in close to full and full moon situations. Good luck you there.
