- The Crappie population at an all time low.need to stock black crappie and black nose crappie, and white crappie bring back the crappie fishing that we had in the 80'S

Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Crappie fishing is sometimes at its best with the water temperature down this low. Crappie will be in large schools and follow the large shad schools around in extremely deep water. Find the deepest parts of your lake in old river channels and scan your graph for schooling shad. When you find the school, drop your plastics or live bait down to the bottom of the shad and get ready. Many crappie fishermen will be catching awesome numbers and size of fish this time of year. If you are brave enough to get out on the water this time when the water temperature is this cold, it can really pay off. Be careful out there, remember to boat safely. Never take any chances at these temperatures.

- Went Sunday morning and put 13 channel cats in the boat any where from 2 to 5lbs in about 8 feet
of water on a flat just off the channel on night crawlers.
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

- Since TVA lowered the lake a lot (when we went out the dock was floating when quit for the day it was grounded and barely in the water) and the temperature has dropped (down from a high of 63 to 58 or less). We didn't do as well as some of our previous trips. Stripped Bass were biting on a small silver and gold lure in about 5 to 8 feet of water near Stevens Point.

We saw lots of fish holding down in 20 feet of water but it was too windy to fish the deep spots.
