Center Hill Lake Solar and Lunar Conditions
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
New Moon fishing can be at its best. The gravitational pull on the earth is at its peak when the moon and sun are rising and setting at the same time of day. This combination can generate extraordinary fishing opportunities especially if combined with perfect weather variances. The new moon may have the fish extremely aggressive and actively hunting for food. Try fishing a little faster today and with several different baits and techniques. When fish are more aggressive, its always fun to fish a little more aggressive. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today?s solar/lunar peaks. Have a great day!

Crappie fishing very slow. Lake water muddy and water level still low due to Army Corps Dam project. Very little brush in the water to fish. 5 guys caught about 50 crappie in 5 days. Crappie caught were around boat docks in 3 to 10 foot of water suspended in 13 to 35 ft of water. Locals said the lake is turning over and fishing will be slow for a while. Brown and Rainbow Trout being caught in big numbers below the dam in tail waters on jigging spoons, minnows and wigglers. We did manage to catch a number of fat spotted bass while casting small crank baits and beetle spins for crappie. We put in 9 to 12 hrs a day on the water fishing hard with very little to show for our efforts, except for the dam fishing for trout the last day. We fished April 20-25.

Have to concur with previous post. 2 days of hard fishing produced 2 smaill rainbow trout, 3 bluegill, and 1 largemouth fishing channel, banks, creeks and boat docks, using various crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and jerkbaits.

Spotted bass are hammering slow rolled spinnerbaits and chatterbaits on shaded bluffs. Tuck in tight to the bluff and cast parallel to the bluff trolling at a fast pace. Good way to cover a lot of water. Some small mouth are being caught this way as well.
Center Hill Lake Water Temperature
Estimated Current Center Hill Lake Water Temperature:
56°
What's This
Largemouth Bass
With Center Hill Lake at 56 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Largemouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Largemouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.

Crappie
The crappie fishing should be getting good to great now. Crappie function excellent in 56 degree water. Crappie will be nicely bunched up still and moving more aggresively than when the water temperature is in the 35 to 50 degree range. With baitfish getting more active, the crappie fishing will be good. Good luck today!

Catfish
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they aren’t going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Center Hill Lake Current Weather
Temperature: 54

Barometric Pressure: 30.15 (High)
A high barometric pressure system is sitting over the lake. Fish will be heading to deeper water, or they will tuck away in cover. With the pressure high, it will be little more challenging to coax them to bite. Your best bet is to take the opportunity to go for a little larger fish. Don’t fish for quantity; it’s time to go for the trophy. Slow down your lures and presentation and get out in deeper water using your favorite plastics, worms, jigs, and finesse baits. With high barometric pressure on your lake, slow down that deep diving crank bait or grab your jerk bait and pause it a little longer.

Wind Speed: North at 00 Knots (0 MPH)
