Lake Marburg Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Crappie fishing is sometimes at its best with the water temperature down this low. Crappie will be in large schools and follow the large shad schools around in extremely deep water. Find the deepest parts of your lake in old river channels and scan your graph for schooling shad. When you find the school, drop your plastics or live bait down to the bottom of the shad and get ready. Many crappie fishermen will be catching awesome numbers and size of fish this time of year. If you are brave enough to get out on the water this time when the water temperature is this cold, it can really pay off. Be careful out there, remember to boat safely. Never take any chances at these temperatures.

- I\'ve been going out around lunchtime near the dam for catty\'s. I get a big sunie, cut it up and put it on a hook and throw it out. I\'ll nd up catching around 10 within an hour! The biggest one I caught was 12 INCHER! It\'s fun to catch them so I can use them to catch 40+ inch catty\'s! The big ones like to eat their own kind!

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Spotted Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Lake Marburg at 44 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Spotted bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Spottted Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.

- We caught 63 rainbow and 7 brown trout while night fishing this past year. All the rainbows were over 14 inches and the browns were over 20 inches. The biggest brown was 29 inches and weighed 11 lbs and 5 oz. It was and awesome year. We caught all of the trout except 3 on Velveeta cheese. Of the other 3, 2 were caught on nightcrawlers, and the other was caught on, believe it or not, a peice of snickers!

Lake Marburg Solar and Lunar Conditions
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
New Moon fishing can be at its best. The gravitational pull on the earth is at its peak when the moon and sun are rising and setting at the same time of day. This combination can generate extraordinary fishing opportunities especially if combined with perfect weather variances. The new moon may have the fish extremely aggressive and actively hunting for food. Try fishing a little faster today and with several different baits and techniques. When fish are more aggressive, its always fun to fish a little more aggressive. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today?s solar/lunar peaks. Have a great day!
