- This has to be one of the worst places to fish. Out for 6 hours today and not even a bite. Any tips
greatly appreciated.

Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions:
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 50 degrees. If you have a chance to get out on the water, you are going to have to fish deep and slow. Jig fishing and Plastic baits may be your best bet this time of year for largemouth bass. You may also try fishing some sinking jerk baits.

The two best places to fish at Beltzville are around the dam and in the small creeks running through. I suggest using live baits or berkley gulp worms. Most other lures have little to no results. Tons of panfish and crappie here

(12in) with a brown plastic worm with gold fleck under a downed tree. Seems
like there is tons of structure, and places where you would expect fish to
be, but nothing. I\'m on a kayak with no fish finder so some advice would be
awesome!

I HAVE BEEN FISHING BELTSVILLE LAKE FOR TWO YEARS, FOR A TOTAL OF 10 TRIPS I HAVE CAUGHT 3 LARGMOUTH, 1 SMALL MOUTH, COUNTLESS SUNNY\'S, ONE RAINBOW TROUT, AND A FEW ROCK BASS. I NEED SERIOUS HELP HERE. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS.

very hard lake to figure out took me 4 years to find my honey holes my best fishing is 2 ta 14 feet of water Walleyes Large mouth bass and Pike can catch them almost all the time jigging worms or drifting day and night did not figure out the strippers yet going to try some new baits

Was out on 3/25/12 and water temp dropped to 50. Didn't get a bit but saw 4 nice bass in
shallow but they were not on beds and cruising. Were not interested in anything me and partner
threw at them.

Crappie Tips for Current Conditions:
Crappie fishing is sometimes at its best with the water temperature down this low. Crappie will be in large schools and follow the large shad schools around in extremely deep water. Find the deepest parts of your lake in old river channels and scan your graph for schooling shad. When you find the school, drop your plastics or live bait down to the bottom of the shad and get ready. Many crappie fishermen will be catching awesome numbers and size of fish this time of year. If you are brave enough to get out on the water this time when the water temperature is this cold, it can really pay off. Be careful out there, remember to boat safely. Never take any chances at these temperatures.

Walleye Tips for Current Conditions:
The walleye spawn is in full swing now. With Walleye spawning grounds generally on gravel and rocky bottoms and preferring clean water. Try throwing reaction type baits up in the shallows. Rip-Rap, damns, rocky bottom points are perfect to hit. Try fishing some faster crank baits and spinners this time of year. As always fall back to the standard walleye fishing tactics, but it won?t hurt bringing out the bass gear in search for spawning walleyes. In this water temperature, always be safe on the water.

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions:
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they aren’t going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Spotted Bass Tips for Current Conditions:
With Beltzville Lake at 50 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Spotted bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Spottted Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.

Catching my limit during the two days i go a week ranging in size from 25 inches to 30 inches. Fishing from shore so i cant get out to get the bigger ones but these are fat with a lot of meat and are hitting great so its well worth it!!!!!
