- Anybody know the best place on the lake to get a two year old into some fast pace perch action?
We have a boat .
Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions:
Smallmouth bass fishing is going to be pretty slow at this water temperature. Bass will typically start moving much slower and feeding less aggressive until the water temperature starts to get back down to comfortable levels. When the water temperature is up this high, get out fishing early and late and cast in the shallows. When the sun is up it will be time to get out into deeper water, try fishing some drop offs and deep channel bends.

- Tried it a a couple of days ago on minnows, water was still a little chilly. Fished the minnow at about 6\'deep with no success and then tried it at about 4\' with the same results. Even tried for a bit about 2\' and still nothing. I probably should have went again last night before the storm moved through, now it is going to be cold for a few days and I imagine they will head back for 10\'+ water for a few days.
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions:
Crappie prefer this water temperature and will be actively feeding and staying in solid patterns. Baitfish are more active and schooling in all parts of the lake in this water temperature.

Keystone Lake Walleye Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Walleye Tips for Current Conditions:
Walleye will be starting to get a little slower in this water temperature. With walleye being a cold water fish, they will start becoming fairly lethargic in this water. With the fish slowing down the fishing will be more difficult to find and coax into biting. However they will be feeding and the walleye bite should still be good. This time of year is a good time to fall back to live bait as standard practice for the best bet at numbers and size of fish.

"WE WENT YESTERDAY AND COUGHT AROUND 60 SANDIES WITHA FEW STRIPES MIXED IN- AND 2 3+ LB WALLEYE THA ARE NOW GRILLED AND GONE. THE FISH WERE IN 2-4 FWWT OF WATER ON SANDY BEACHES WITH WIND BLOWING IN- IT WAS SO SHALLOW AT TIMES OUR MOTOR WAS DRAGGING BOTTOM- MOST WERE CAUGHT ON 2 1/2 INCH GRUBS WHITE AND CHARTRUSE AND SMALL FRY FIRE TIGER CRANK BAITS AND 1/4 OUNCE RATTLE TRAPS - 10 LB TEST AND SPINNING EQUIPMENT. WE WERE FISHING AROUND MAIN LAKE POINTS BY WHISPERING HILLS AND MUD CREEK IN THE UPPER ARKANSAS ARM- TRICK IS -SHALLOW AND SLOW. WE CAUGHT FISH ALL DAY SO TIME DID NOT SEEM TO MATTER- GOING UP INTO SALT CREEK TODAY AND TRY SOME CLEARER WATER ON SOME SPOTS WE HAVE CAUGHT WALLEYS IN THE PAST- THEY REALLY TURN ON THISTIME OF YEAR ON KEYSTONE AND MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW THEY ARE HERE. A LIGHT WIND DAY DRIFTING A CAROLINA RIG WITH A NIGHT CRAWLER HOOKED IN THE HEAD WORKS GREAT ON 10 LB TEST SPINNING TACKLE. DRIFTING THE CLAY BOTTOM FLATS ON THE EAST SIDE OF MAIN LAKE IS THE BEST SPOT IF THE CIMMARON ISN'T TO MUDDY. YOU WILL INVARIABLY PICK UP SOME CATS BUT THE WALLEYE ARE THERE IF YOU JUST FISH FOR THEM. YOU CAN ALSO DRAG A 3"" YUM GRUB AND CATCH THEM ALSO BUT THE LIVE BAIT SEEMS TO BE MORE SUCCESSFUL. Keystone Lake Solar and Lunar Conditions
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be another full moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
