Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions:
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 48 degrees. If you have a chance to get out on the water, you are going to have to fish deep and slow. Jig fishing and Plastic baits may be your best bet this time of year for largemouth bass. You may also try fishing some sinking jerk baits.

soon as lure hits the water. i caught about 20 this way in 2 hours

On the 25th of may I took my 2 boys fishing on the north shore. Caught several small largemouth and one about 13 inches long. Caught a channel cat around 8lbs-28inches on a spinner. Got a perch about 11 inches as well. We were wading using spinners.

Crappie Tips for Current Conditions:
Crappie fishing is sometimes at its best with the water temperature down this low. Crappie will be in large schools and follow the large shad schools around in extremely deep water. Find the deepest parts of your lake in old river channels and scan your graph for schooling shad. When you find the school, drop your plastics or live bait down to the bottom of the shad and get ready. Many crappie fishermen will be catching awesome numbers and size of fish this time of year. If you are brave enough to get out on the water this time when the water temperature is this cold, it can really pay off. Be careful out there, remember to boat safely. Never take any chances at these temperatures.

Walleye Tips for Current Conditions:
The walleye spawn is in full swing now. With Walleye spawning grounds generally on gravel and rocky bottoms and preferring clean water. Try throwing reaction type baits up in the shallows. Rip-Rap, damns, rocky bottom points are perfect to hit. Try fishing some faster crank baits and spinners this time of year. As always fall back to the standard walleye fishing tactics, but it won?t hurt bringing out the bass gear in search for spawning walleyes. In this water temperature, always be safe on the water.

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions:
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they aren’t going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Went fishing from 9 am to 2:30 pm on 7/25/12 near the Marina. Caught about a
half dozen panfish, but no sign of anything else. It was raining during the
visit. We used redworms and did some spin casting using various lures and
spinners.

"Waded on the north shore with spinners from 4-6pm and caught nothing. One person fishing on bottom with worms was catching bluegill and channel cats. Fished SW corner on bottom and caught a bullhead, 2 gills, and a small spotted bass in an hour."

"on 4/21/10 , we were fishing along 235. look out to the middle of the lake and what do we see, but someone using an electric motor, there were no oars on board, and cruising across the lake. i have fished this lake for over 40 years and never seen anyone use a motor. i went to the ranger station, no one there!!! saw him driving around, but that's all his does !!!!figures!!!! there are ""no motors allowed at every ramp. why are we paying for a park ranger that doesn't do his job? if the person who used the motor reads this, here's your update........NO MOTORS ON KISER LAKE!!!!!!!!!"

Me and my dad were at kiser last night. And boy did we look like pros out thier we caught over 70 pounds of fish within 4 hours I kid u not. I've never seen bass attack and strike so hard stay close to the Lilly pads and put a weedless plastic worm on and give it a cast. Best fishing spot right now.

Saturday August 22nd caught six nice bass and a few channel cats. The largest channel cat weighed 7lbs and was 25 inches long.

The full moon is right around the corner. The gravitational pull is starting to increase with the moon and sun being on opposite sides of the planet. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today's solar/lunar peaks. It's always fun trying something new at the peak times to change things up a bit and test out the Lunar Theory each time you hit the water in close to full and full moon situations. Good luck you there.
