Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Shaver Lake Trout Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- These trouts really bite on power bait and can be caught on Kastmasters. When fishing Kastmaster, or on any other lures, smallmouth bass will usually bite. The trouts and salmon over here are rainbow trouts, German brown trouts, and kokanee salmons. Other fish over here are bluegills, catfish, and, as mentioned earlier, smallmouth bass. To find rainbow trouts, go look where there is a lot of rocks and where it is deep. The rainbow trouts are the most exciting fish to catch. These fish might not be as big but if you are lucky, you might catch a 20 inch trout. In the morning, the trouts will come near the shore or be on the surface feeding on insects and other foods that they eat. At noon, they will be in the deeper water. When the sun starts to set, they come back near the shore and will be feeding actively. Hope this helps your next trout fishing expedition. Good luck.

Shaver Lake Solar and Lunar Conditions
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
New Moon fishing can be at its best. The gravitational pull on the earth is at its peak when the moon and sun are rising and setting at the same time of day. This combination can generate extraordinary fishing opportunities especially if combined with perfect weather variances. The new moon may have the fish extremely aggressive and actively hunting for food. Try fishing a little faster today and with several different baits and techniques. When fish are more aggressive, its always fun to fish a little more aggressive. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today?s solar/lunar peaks. Have a great day!
