Went yesterday for a couple hours. It started raining as soon as I showed up, but made a nice trip for fishing. Lots of bass in shallows around lots of weeds and calm quiet water. Landed about 2-2pounders and 2-1pounders using a clear Storm 3" swim shad w/curly tail. Lots of bites on NE side of lake between dams.

Puddingstone Reservo Water Temperature
Estimated Current Puddingstone Reservo Water Temperature:
45°
What's This
Largemouth Bass
Try fishing some pre spawn locations for largemouth bass. With water temperature at 45 find some flats with soft bottom at locations on Puddingstone Reservo that typically have vegetation during summer months. Try fishing spinner baits and work them slow up to the edge of the drop and bounce them down the face looking for staging largemouth bass. Look for flats in the arms of the lake that have direct access to deep water and river channels.

Smallmouth Bass
Smallmouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 45 degrees. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a smallmouth.

Spotted Bass
Spotted bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature down this low. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a Spotted.

Crappie
Crappie fishing is sometimes at its best with the water temperature down this low. Crappie will be in large schools and follow the large shad schools around in extremely deep water. Find the deepest parts of your lake in old river channels and scan your graph for schooling shad. When you find the school, drop your plastics or live bait down to the bottom of the shad and get ready. Many crappie fishermen will be catching awesome numbers and size of fish this time of year. If you are brave enough to get out on the water this time when the water temperature is this cold, it can really pay off. Be careful out there, remember to boat safely. Never take any chances at these temperatures.

Catfish
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they aren’t going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Puddingstone Reservo Current Weather
Temperature: 37

Barometric Pressure: 0.00 (Low)
Many fish will head to shallower water and feed fairly aggressive. The fishing should be good unless the barometric pressure stays here for several days. After the front is over the lake and the barometric pressure stabilizes slow down the same lures you were using when the pressure was dropping. Use top water baits a little slower, crank medium sized lures a little slower. Don’t hesitate to fish open water, no need to only concentrate on structure. Fish should be active and out hunting for baitfish.

Wind Speed: South-West at 06 Knots (7 MPH)
