Bayou Bodcau Reservoir includes 36,941 total acres of land and water. The dam is 11,900 feet long and 76 feet high. There are 33,500 acres of land at the project which are open to the public for hunting. Bayou Bodcau Reservoir in LA and AR is a flood-control project with no permanent pool. A major waterfowl management and upland game management area is located here. The cabin of an original settler of the area is available for use by the public in classroom study. Largemouth bass fishing is going to be pretty slow at 88 degree water temperature. Bass will start moving much slower and feeding less aggressively until the water temperature starts to get back down to comfortable levels. When the water temperature is up this high, it's time to get out fishing early and late in the day when the sun is not on the water. When you can get out for the entire day, it's a great time to fish some deeper water. Many large bass are taken this time of year since bass fishermen typically gets out deeper and fish slower with larger baits. Like any other time of year, the slower you fish with bigger baits on the deep drops and river channels, the better chance you have at a lunker. This is a great time to catch a trophy. Your lake crappie will be much more lethargic in the water temperature. They will be in deeper and cooler water. Crappie will be feeding; however they will not be feeding aggressively unless the other fishing factors are at prime levels. Find some moving water that is clear and you should find some more aggressive fishing.

With the water temperatures up this high, the walleye will really be moving slow and feeding even slower. It will be extremely difficult to stay on fish and catch good numbers. There will be good days that you can find a good pattern and fill the live well up. The good days of walleye fishing will be fewer and farther between until the water temperature gets back down. Catfish will be more active than most other species in the lake. However they will be feeding much slower due to the lake having less oxygen and less healthy than when the water temperature is a little cooler. Don’t throw in the towel, your monster catfish may be waiting for you. As always the best time to go fishing is every time you can go fishing. Good luck!
