<p><b>Amistad Reservoir</b> is a reservoir on the Rio Grande River northwest of Del Rio Texas.  The lake is located in  Val Verde County on the Texas side. The reservoir was formed in November, 1969 by the construction of Amistad Dam to provide flood control, water conservation, irrigation for farming, irrigation and hydroelectric power, and recreation to the area. </p> <p>Amistad reservoir is an excellent lake for fishing the many species located in it's waters.  Bass fisherman from around the country visit this lake for some excellent Largemouth bass fishing and Lake amistad is a stop on many large tournament trails.  Also the smallmouth bass, guadalupe bass and catfish fishing are excellent.</p>' Lake Description and General Information:
