Fishing has been great! Even with the cold front we caught some nice bass yesterday fishing depressions and drops. The big slabs are staging in the major fingers in 10 to 15 feet. There were some big cats caught this weekend, with an 85 pounder in the mix.! Fish the lower end of the canal where it dumps into Moultrie. Stripers are heading upstream to spawn. The lake is up and the current is ripping, we should have another great spawn this year!

Cat fished yesterday, caught some good fish with three pigs. still drifting Gizzard Shad, but a little shallower yesterday. There are a lot of three to six pound bass being caught in shallow water with this weather we\'ve been having. Crappie are still biting hard on brush - get out and sink some Wax Myrtle bushes with concrete blocks and you\'ll be in business. http://www.blackscamp.com

Best fishing this time of year as not man fishermen are out. Today was overcast with 5 mph winds out of the east. Got out on Lake Moultrie at 8am and immediately ran into schooling stripers with about 500 gulls, pelicans and loons on top of the fish. Caught 25 nice ones really fast on sassy shads and bucktails.

Santee Cooper Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be pretty slow at 84 degree water temperature. Bass will start moving much slower and feeding less aggressively until the water temperature starts to get back down to comfortable levels. When the water temperature is up this high, it's time to get out fishing early and late in the day when the sun is not on the water. When you can get out for the entire day, it's a great time to fish some deeper water. Many large bass are taken this time of year since bass fishermen typically gets out deeper and fish slower with larger baits. Like any other time of year, the slower you fish with bigger baits on the deep drops and river channels, the better chance you have at a lunker. This is a great time to catch a trophy. Good luck out there today!

Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Your lake crappie will be much more lethargic in the water temperature. They will be in deeper and cooler water. Crappie will be feeding; however they will not be feeding aggressively unless the other fishing factors are at prime levels. Find some moving water that is clear and you should find some more aggressive fishing.

- Use live brim or goldfish, cutbait, nightcrawlers, stinkbait and chicken livers. Best time to catch
catfish would be early in the morning or late in the evening and after dark.
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Unlike most North American fish species, blue catfish, flathead and channel catfish are comfortable when the water temperature is this high. They will be feeding and moving in typical patterns. You will start having a little better luck if you can get to some moving water that is adding a little more oxygen for the baitfish and the catfish will be there also.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The crescent moon will have better gravitational pull than a gibbous or half moon. However the affects of the moons gravitational will be decreased since the sun and moon aren't pulling in conjunction with one another. It's time to pay close attention to the other fishing factors in the weather to make the best decision for hitting the water.
