Lofton Reservoir Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Lofton Reservoir at 50 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Largemouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Largemouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.

Lofton Reservoir Smallmouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Smallmouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 50 degrees. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a smallmouth.

Lofton Reservoir Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Fall Fishing Tip provided by Guide Chatt Martin: One tactic is all you need. Trolling. Get a pink or black colored crankbait that gets down 8-12 feet (I like Bandit 200 and 300 series crankbaits), and put it 80-100 feet behind a boat and drive that boat around in 8-12 feet of water pretty slow. 1.2-1.8 miles per hour seems to be the blessed speed. You will catch crappies, and you'll be surprised how many. This is a great tactic when you don't have a fishfinder.

Lofton Reservoir Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

New Moon fishing can be at its best. The gravitational pull on the earth is at its peak when the moon and sun are rising and setting at the same time of day. This combination can generate extraordinary fishing opportunities especially if combined with perfect weather variances. The new moon may have the fish extremely aggressive and actively hunting for food. Try fishing a little faster today and with several different baits and techniques. When fish are more aggressive, its always fun to fish a little more aggressive. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today?s solar/lunar peaks. Have a great day!
