I fish almost everyday for those rainbow. Up to a week ago I was catching way over 5 a day. Catch and release and giving some away. One day within about 3 hours I caught 20. Most were native and 15 inch to 16.5 size. If your bank fishing like I am, you want to cast out as far as you can to hit the deep water where it is colder. Use a one ounce slide wait with a #6 single hook with 3 yellow garlic power eggs keeping end of hook exposed. Because I have 2 pole license I set other up same way but with # 14 treble hook and use garlic power bait or been good with corn/Mais power bait. On both set ups run 6 lb leader with at least 4 feet of leader. Thanks mike cairns ....mc1bean@ gmail.com

Excellent. I have a special jig I use, but go in areas with visible grass sticking up above the water. If you have a boat (like I do) go about 10-15ft away from the grass and cast toward the grass. Trolling works best near these areas.

Henry Hagg Lake Largemouth Bass Rating:
4.5
Henry Hagg Lake Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- 1 bass per day per person

Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Largemouth bass fishing is in full spawn now the water temperature has climbed up to 65 degrees. The large female bass will be on the beds and holding tight. Spawning bass won't be feeding aggressively at this water temperature but they will be catchable. In addition, all bass don't spawn at the exact same time or water temperature. If you aren't a site fisherman, you should be able to find some larger females and male largemouth on the standard spring patterns. Female bass will really start to slow down on feeding so fishing is going to be slower for a few weeks until they move into active patterns again.
Henry Hagg Lake Smallmouth Bass Rating:

Henry Hagg Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Starting 2013; crappie limit is now 25 per person. 2 daily limits in possession.
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Crappie will be coming off of the spawn now. Fish will be feeding much more aggressively making up for lost time eating during the spawn. Crappie will start moving back to their typical structure of choice and should be getting into schools again in the old river channels. It?s time to hit the water. Have fun today!
Henry Hagg Lake Walleye Rating:
4
Henry Hagg Lake Walleye Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- There are no walleye in Henry Hagg Lake.
Walleye Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
This is the water temperature of choice for walleye. They are feeding well and moving in patterns that should be fairly easy to pick up and capitalize on today. Baitfish are not at the peak of activity but they will be in good supply in the deeper water. The lake is really turning on this time of year and the fish should be biting well.
Henry Hagg Lake Catfish Rating:
4.5
Henry Hagg Lake Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- I find my best fishing with chicken livers and a marshmallow on my hook.
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The water temperature is climbing and the catfish will start becoming more active now. The catfish spawn is right around the corner and generally all catfish species will be looking to spawn. Blue catfish, flathead and channel catfish spawn in much the same areas. Mostly spawning in deep tree lay downs that have lots of shade, holes in the bank, sunken barrels and tires. With baitfish becoming active, it?s time to catch some small sunfish, bluegill, shad and frogs and getting the line in the water.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be a new moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
