Saw a lot of people out there today. Fishing was slower in some areas of the day but still had a lot of fish. Caught my limit and then some and started helping others catch fish. Best fishing is deeper in the water near structure of some sort. Salmon peach and chartruse power bait works great..... today is sept 30.

Dexter Reservoir Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- when fishing do not focus on a straight line cast or one directional, especially from a boat. You want to make a 180 degree half circle start to your left and move a little more to your right with every other cast it will attract more fish and you will have greater chances in setting the HOOK!!!
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Dexter Reservoir at 56 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Largemouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Largemouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.

Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The crappie fishing should be getting good to great now. Crappie function excellent in 56 degree water. Crappie will be nicely bunched up still and moving more aggresively than when the water temperature is in the 35 to 50 degree range. With baitfish getting more active, the crappie fishing will be good. Good luck today!

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Dexter Reservoir Trout Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Went fishing yesterday caught a trophy sized trout I was fishing about 2 feet of the bottom. The
rig I was using was a egg wheight on the main line then a swivle with about a 2 to 2 1/2 foot liter
and a single hook. Works great for floating bait. Good luck and tight lines

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

New Moon fishing can be at its best. The gravitational pull on the earth is at its peak when the moon and sun are rising and setting at the same time of day. This combination can generate extraordinary fishing opportunities especially if combined with perfect weather variances. The new moon may have the fish extremely aggressive and actively hunting for food. Try fishing a little faster today and with several different baits and techniques. When fish are more aggressive, its always fun to fish a little more aggressive. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today?s solar/lunar peaks. Have a great day!
