Oologah Lake provides a great getaway for fishing, boating, picnicking, camping or just drifting over the sky blue waters. Plenty of wide stretches of water, perfect for catching the wind, make it one of the most popular lakes in the area for sailing. The forested hills around the lake provide excellent hunting opportunities. Eleven public use areas scattered around the lake offer a variety of facilities making it easy to find something thats just right for you! Blues doing ok on goldfish & cut shad,went out 7-6-12.caught about 8,5-12 pounders.Going out again Friday night.

4-25-11.On spencer creek crappie are exellent,try chartruse or red jigs,for bass I cuaght a few on spinner baits but small where I was at,if catfishing by dam make sure you have pretty heavy weaghts hook thru tail and try about 70 feet from outtake shad around 4in are perfect.

"We've gone out fri ,sat,sun from 4 til 12 - 2am last 3 weeks. Four people fishing with a variety of baits. Caught one 4lb blue against the bank at 1am on shrimp. Water levels really high,bait fish are plentiful and mayflies are the all you can eat buffet. Water is really warm and murky with floating debris. We will be out there again tomorrow. Wish us luck we need it."

Fall Fishing Tip provided by Guide Chatt Martin: One tactic is all you need. Trolling. Get a pink or black colored crankbait that gets down 8-12 feet (I like Bandit 200 and 300 series crankbaits), and put it 80-100 feet behind a boat and drive that boat around in 8-12 feet of water pretty slow. 1.2-1.8 miles per hour seems to be the blessed speed. You will catch crappies, and you'll be surprised how many. This is a great tactic when you don't have a fishfinder.
