Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Crappie will be coming off of the spawn now. Fish will be feeding much more aggressively making up for lost time eating during the spawn. Crappie will start moving back to their typical structure of choice and should be getting into schools again in the old river channels. It?s time to hit the water. Have fun today!
Hugo Lake Walleye Rating:
Hugo Lake Walleye Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Walleye Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
This is the water temperature of choice for walleye. They are feeding well and moving in patterns that should be fairly easy to pick up and capitalize on today. Baitfish are not at the peak of activity but they will be in good supply in the deeper water. The lake is really turning on this time of year and the fish should be biting well.
Hugo Lake Catfish Rating:
Hugo Lake Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- It's best to stick with the river channel on this lake no matter where you are. Use of fish finders is a must here. The dam supplies nicely for most shore bound anglers.:)

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The water temperature is climbing and the catfish will start becoming more active now. The catfish spawn is right around the corner and generally all catfish species will be looking to spawn. Blue catfish, flathead and channel catfish spawn in much the same areas. Mostly spawning in deep tree lay downs that have lots of shade, holes in the bank, sunken barrels and tires. With baitfish becoming active, it?s time to catch some small sunfish, bluegill, shad and frogs and getting the line in the water.
Hugo Lake Spotted Bass Rating:

Hugo Lake White Bass Rating:
Hugo Lake White Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- I suggest using either live minnows/shad or a
soft plastic that mimics either. I personally
don\'t use live bait for multiple reasons, if
fished correctly a plastic shad or minnow can
be even more effective than live bait. Caught
5 within 2hrs today, no schooling to speak of

Hugo Lake Trout Rating:
Hugo Lake Trout Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- There are no trout in Hugo Lake! The water is way too warm for trout to survive. It is common knowledge that the only waters in southeastern Oklahoma cold enough to support trout life are Mountain Fork river and possibly Gates Creek, although Mountain Fork is the only water currently known to hold trout. They stock it at least once a year and the trout fishing is very good there I am told. I am not a trout fisherman myself, so I do not know this from personal experience. I do know for a fact that there are no trout in Hugo Lake and the rating 3.5/5 for trout fishing makes me skeptical of the validity of any information on this site.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The crescent moon will have better gravitational pull than a gibbous or half moon. However the affects of the moons gravitational will be decreased since the sun and moon aren't pulling in conjunction with one another. It's time to pay close attention to the other fishing factors in the weather to make the best decision for hitting the water.
