"Began early in the morning from the marina; air temp 55, water temp 55.Caught a 10 pound muskie by accident off of some wood near the shore on a jerk bait. Caught a couple decent largemouth off a jig fished near the rocks/wood on the shoreline. Caught a nice smallie using a red craw crank off the rocks at the dam. Decent day, wind was whipping good."

Piedmont Lake Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be pretty slow at 79 degree water temperature. Bass will start moving much slower and feeding less aggressively until the water temperature starts to get back down to comfortable levels. When the water temperature is up this high, it's time to get out fishing early and late in the day when the sun is not on the water. When you can get out for the entire day, it's a great time to fish some deeper water. Many large bass are taken this time of year since bass fishermen typically gets out deeper and fish slower with larger baits. Like any other time of year, the slower you fish with bigger baits on the deep drops and river channels, the better chance you have at a lunker. This is a great time to catch a trophy. Good luck out there today!

Piedmont Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Your lake crappie will be much more lethargic in the water temperature. They will be in deeper and cooler water. Crappie will be feeding; however they will not be feeding aggressively unless the other fishing factors are at prime levels. Find some moving water that is clear and you should find some more aggressive fishing.
Piedmont Lake Walleye Rating:

Piedmont Lake Walleye Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- the best walleye fishing is in the fall and spring my best luck i have is while using a mr twister or
a erie deerie tipped with shiner or bass minnow at depths usually around 10 ft they tend to stay
where water is at a cool temerature right now is the best time of year to get them at dawn
almost to dusk right around 6 to 8 is my best times of luck
Walleye Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Walleye will be starting to get a little slower in this water temperature. With walleye being a cold water fish, they will start becoming fairly lethargic in this water. With the fish slowing down the fishing will be more difficult to find and coax into biting. However they will be feeding and the walleye bite should still be good. This time of year is a good time to fall back to live bait as standard practice for the best bet at numbers and size of fish.
Piedmont Lake Catfish Rating:

Piedmont Lake Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- when using fresh chicken liver or even
creek chubs add a little garlic salt to
your bait it takes human scent away
plus sends the garlic smell mix with the
smell of the chub further into the water
so use that its a guarunteed fact youll
have more bites n more fun so get
some bait n garlic salt n have some fun.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The crescent moon will have better gravitational pull than a gibbous or half moon. However the affects of the moons gravitational will be decreased since the sun and moon aren't pulling in conjunction with one another. It's time to pay close attention to the other fishing factors in the weather to make the best decision for hitting the water.
