"Fished Belews on 1/28.Lower half of the lake was stained-muddy,worse towards the 158 bridge.Found clear water north of the powerlines at Humphries Ridge.Water temps were slightly higher in the clear/northern ends of the lake.Found bass holding on/near cover in 10-15 ft.Jigs and small deep crankbaits in natural colors produced fish, mostly 1-2.5 lb fish."

Belews Lake Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Water temp is around 65it already temp on this site is not at all accurate

Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Belews Lake at 47 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Largemouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Largemouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.
Belews Lake Smallmouth Bass Rating:

Belews Lake Smallmouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- There are no smallmouth in this lake
Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Smallmouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 47 degrees. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a smallmouth.
Belews Lake Crappie Rating:

Belews Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With the Water Temperature at 47 all crappie should be up in their spawning areas now and spawn should be getting started. There will be a few few still in the deeps and prespawn areas, but a majority should be up getting ready or already spawning. Continue to hit the creek channels on the migration routes. Focus on isolated cover in a little shallower water. No need to get crazy shallow but start focusing on 15 feet or less of water. On warmer sunny days if the water is still at 47 you should attempt to bounce back and forth from 5-15 feet of water to attempt nailing a solid pattern fo r the day. Try a Kentucky rig baited with minnow, tube bait and small jigs.

Belews Lake Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- I found a catfish hole at the lat/long listed below. Every time we have hit this spot this summer, we would pull out at least 2-3 white catfish. Rig up a jig with a live worm and let it sit on the floor, jigging the bait every now and then.

If you see a bunch of bluegills hanging out around your boat, add an extra sinker to your line to get the bait out of reach before they steal your worm. They are really aggressive and quick here.

Most of the catfish I have caught here have been 18+ inches long and I've let them all go, so hopefully they'll be bigger next season!

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.
