Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Chisago Lake at 54 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Largemouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Largemouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.

Chisago Lake Crappie Rating:
4.1
Chisago Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Theres a good crappie population in the eight to nine inch range with the occasional ten incher. They like to sit off the weed edge in fifteen plus feet during the day and come in to the weed beds feeding on the surface during prime hours. During winter theres a good night bite were most of the crappies in the lake are harvested. You will find them in twenty plus feet of water.
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The crappie fishing should be getting good to great now. Crappie function excellent in 54 degree water. Crappie will be nicely bunched up still and moving more aggresively than when the water temperature is in the 35 to 50 degree range. With baitfish getting more active, the crappie fishing will be good. Good luck today!
Chisago Lake Walleye Rating:
3.3
Chisago Lake Walleye Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- walleye fishing can be good in this lake if u offer the right presentations. Chisago has a lot of fishing pressure so the walleyes have seen it all. Live bait seems to be the best option but soft plastics and artificals do have there place look off of the sand bars and weed edges throughout the open water months and during the winter look for walleyes in the deepest basins close to bait fish populations, they will then come into the shallows at dawn and dusk for a short time to feed then head back out to deep water. The walleyes in this lake are constantly moving throughout the day time hours and joining up for the night and morning feed. There are some big ones.

Chisago Lake Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be a new moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
