Wallace Lake Dam is managed by the Louisiana Field Office and is located fourteen miles southeast of Shreveport on picturesque Cypress Bayou near La. Hwy 175 at Ellerbe Road. The Corps of Engineers operates one recreational facility at Wallace Lake Dam. Wallace Lake Dam not only provides flood control, but also affords visitors the opportunity to fish, hunt, hike or just relax and enjoy the day outdoors. Wallace Lake is referred to by some folks as the best crappie lake in the area. Fishing is also abundant below the dam. Presently the only boat launch available to the public is located at Milton James Cameron Memorial Park on Wallace Lake Road. No user fees are charged at Wallace Lake Dam Recreation Area.
