"It's been a beautiful week here on the Lake Verret at Shell Beach. We are blessed to live here on the lake and see the many beautiful sun rises and sun sets. The lake has been very calm and with the water temp. at 75 degrees the fishing this weekend should be good. The water is very low right now so becareful and watch out for them shallow spots and logs.We fished the canal last evening and hooked a couple nice bass and had 4 really nice catfish on the trot line.So if your not in the deer stand this weekend, come on out and get ya some !"

- Caught a 11lbs. 3ozs. Bass here on a yellow belly sap sucker
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Lake Verret at 49 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Largemouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Largemouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.

Lake Verret Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With the Water Temperature at 49 Prime Crappie fishing is in full swing. Crappies should be migrating to their spawning areas now. They?ll either be up in the final spawning area now or at tributary entrances. Concentrate around 15 feet of water. Fish Primary points at the mouth of the creek arms. Fish Targets at this point instead of focusing on bait fish. Fish trees, shrubs, vegetation, etc. Fishing correctly this time of year will get you snagged quite a bit since you need to focus on making and keeping contact with the cover.

- Robby T. is the cat master
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.
Lake Verret Spotted Bass Rating:

Lake Verret Spotted Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Spotted Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Spotted bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature down this low. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a Spotted.
