Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Spring Fishing Tip Provided by Guide Chatt Martin:Though the redbud bloom always turned out to be a good guideline, we now know that when the water gets to about 55 degrees and the days start getting longer, crappies come in to the bank to spawn (breed). They're very easy to catch during this period, as long as you’ve got some minnows or small jigs and bobbers, a gravel bottom (rocks about the size of a pea are just right), and something sticking up off the bottom like a tree, a dock piling, or a brushpile. If you're not sure, just look for a place where the bank has been trampled down by all the other fishermen! Creeks and rivers that don't have much current are still just as good places to start as they were when I was a kid. If you're fishing a lake or a pond, start on the north shore where the water warms fastest. Remember that crappies always feed upward, so if you're in 3 feet of water, put your jig or minnow about a foot under your bobber.

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they aren’t going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

New Moon fishing can be at its best. The gravitational pull on the earth is at its peak when the moon and sun are rising and setting at the same time of day. This combination can generate extraordinary fishing opportunities especially if combined with perfect weather variances. The new moon may have the fish extremely aggressive and actively hunting for food. Try fishing a little faster today and with several different baits and techniques. When fish are more aggressive, its always fun to fish a little more aggressive. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today?s solar/lunar peaks. Have a great day!
