Water Temperature:
I had luck on Friday February 19th, only caught one fish but it was a nice 3lb bass. It was most likely suspended in 5 to 6 feet of water. Slow rolling with white lures seems to be the ticket right now.

- I had a lot of luck before the cold snap with crankbaits along the banks and some bites also on spinner baits. The bite has slowed down after the snow. Water temp most likely around 52 or so right now.
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Pratt County Lake at 50 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Largemouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Largemouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.

Pratt County Lake Smallmouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Smallmouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 50 degrees. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a smallmouth.
Pratt County Lake Crappie Rating:

Pratt County Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With the Water Temperature at 50 all crappie should be up in their spawning areas now and spawn should be getting started. There will be a few few still in the deeps and prespawn areas, but a majority should be up getting ready or already spawning. Continue to hit the creek channels on the migration routes. Focus on isolated cover in a little shallower water. No need to get crazy shallow but start focusing on 15 feet or less of water. On warmer sunny days if the water is still at 50 you should attempt to bounce back and forth from 5-15 feet of water to attempt nailing a solid pattern fo r the day. Try a Kentucky rig baited with minnow, tube bait and small jigs.
Pratt County Lake Walleye Rating:

Pratt County Lake Walleye Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Walleye Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The walleye spawn is in full swing now. With Walleye spawning grounds generally on gravel and rocky bottoms and preferring clean water. Try throwing reaction type baits up in the shallows. Rip-Rap, damns, rocky bottom points are perfect to hit. Try fishing some faster crank baits and spinners this time of year. As always fall back to the standard walleye fishing tactics, but it won?t hurt bringing out the bass gear in search for spawning walleyes. In this water temperature, always be safe on the water.
Pratt County Lake Catfish Rating:

Pratt County Lake Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.
