Species: Walleye
Fishing Rating: 1
Water Temperature: 49
"Lake Yonah - The water temperature was 49 degrees on Tuesday (3/2) and my crew found our first walleye in the headwaters, a three pound male. The Lake Yonah Boat Ramp is also located on Yonah Dam Road about 2.6 miles north of the Walker Creek boat ramp. Both water bodies can be easily fished on the same day. Yonah Lake Largemouth Bass Rating:
3.5
Yonah Lake Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Yonah Lake at 49 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Largemouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Largemouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.

Yonah Lake Crappie Rating:
4.5
Yonah Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With the Water Temperature at 49 all crappie should be up in their spawning areas now and spawn should be getting started. There will be a few few still in the deeps and prespawn areas, but a majority should be up getting ready or already spawning. Continue to hit the creek channels on the migration routes. Focus on isolated cover in a little shallower water. No need to get crazy shallow but start focusing on 15 feet or less of water. On warmer sunny days if the water is still at 49 you should attempt to bounce back and forth from 5-15 feet of water to attempt nailing a solid pattern fo r the day. Try a Kentucky rig baited with minnow, tube bait and small jigs.
Yonah Lake Catfish Rating:
3.5
Yonah Lake Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.
Yonah Lake Spotted Bass Rating:
4.5
Yonah Lake Spotted Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Spotted Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Spotted bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature down this low. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a Spotted.
