Water Temperature:
4/12/15 I took my boat out of Jessup for the first time today. I needed to run the motor a little after sitting for ahile. I also took a few rods along and test the waters. The first thing was the water level was very low. It took some time to get away from the launch area out into decent water. after hitting water dep enough to get on plane I ran over to the south side of the lake where I saw an abundance of alligators..... I mean it was like a Gator Land without the fences. Anyway ended up runing east toward the bringe, then to the north side near the bridge where I began to troll and cast toward some reeds. I saw plenty of bait fish jumping and something chasing them. I am a bass fisherman and threw a rattle trap and a spinner bait but no takers. I could see the cattails moving with fish but nothing would bite. If there is anyone out there who fishes Jessup and throw some pointers my way, it would be appreciated.

Lake Jessup Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be pretty slow at 78 degree water temperature. Bass will start moving much slower and feeding less aggressively until the water temperature starts to get back down to comfortable levels. When the water temperature is up this high, it's time to get out fishing early and late in the day when the sun is not on the water. When you can get out for the entire day, it's a great time to fish some deeper water. Many large bass are taken this time of year since bass fishermen typically gets out deeper and fish slower with larger baits. Like any other time of year, the slower you fish with bigger baits on the deep drops and river channels, the better chance you have at a lunker. This is a great time to catch a trophy. Good luck out there today!

Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Your lake crappie will be much more lethargic in the water temperature. They will be in deeper and cooler water. Crappie will be feeding; however they will not be feeding aggressively unless the other fishing factors are at prime levels. Find some moving water that is clear and you should find some more aggressive fishing.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The crescent moon will have better gravitational pull than a gibbous or half moon. However the affects of the moons gravitational will be decreased since the sun and moon aren't pulling in conjunction with one another. It's time to pay close attention to the other fishing factors in the weather to make the best decision for hitting the water.
